Children of Fallen Heroes Scholarship
在这项奖学金下, a Pell-eligible student whose parent or guardian died in the line of duty while performing as a public safety officer is eligible to receive a maximum Pell Grant for the award year for which the determination of eligibility is made.
才有资格获得这项奖学金, a student must be Pell-eligible and have a Pell-eligible Expected Family Contribution (EFC), and be less than 24 years of age or enrolled at an institution of higher education at the time of his or her parent’s or guardian’s death. 在随后的奖励年度, the student continues to be eligible for the scholarship, as long as the student has a Pell-eligible EFC and continues to be an eligible student.
For purposes of the Children of Fallen Heroes Scholarship, a public safety officer is:
- As defined in section 1204 of title I of the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968 (42 U.S.C 3796b); or
- 一名消防警察, defined as an individual who is serving in accordance with State or local law as an officially recognized or designated member of a legally organized public safety agency and provides scene security or directs traffic in response to any fire drill, 火灾报警, 或者其他火, 救援, 或者警察紧急申博官方, 或者在计划好的特别活动中.

These scholarship opportunities help deserving students stay in school and out of debt, allowing them to more easily achieve their educational and career goals.

Nursing student assistance is available through public and private organizations, in addition to the financial aid and scholarship opportunities offered through 阿尔伯马尔学院.
An eligible applicant will need to be:
- 北卡罗来纳州居民
- Able to maintain satisfactory academic progress according to the policies of their institution
- Able to maintain a cumulative minimum grade-point average (GPA) of “3.0” for graduating high school students, “2.80” for undergraduate students pursuing an associate or bachelor’s degree, and “3.2” for students pursuing a graduate or professional degree
- 注册ed with the Selective Service System, if required
- Free of default or obligation to refund payment under any federal loan, state loan or grant program
- Willing to work in 北卡罗莱纳 in a designated critical employment shortage profession
To receive funds through this program, you’ll be asked to sign a promissory note agreeing to work in 北卡罗莱纳 after graduation, 在被认可的职位上, for one year per academic year of funding. Students who don’t perform the required service will need to repay the loans in cash, with interest.

This scholarship is targeted towards current and enrolling college students pursuing an Associate or Bachelor’s degree in business or a business related field. Applicants must be a legal resident of 北卡罗莱纳. Applications can be obtained from the 财政援助办事处.
